Southwestern Totemic Floor Lamp
This sculptural floor lamp draws from the visual language of the American Southwest, integrating symbolic forms that represent guidance, protection, direction, and connection to land.
At the shade level, animal and movement forms evoke ancient petroglyph traditions — stylized creatures and directional motifs that suggest migration, awareness, and adaptability. Each face of the shade is uniquely designed, allowing the piece to transform visually depending on the viewer’s position in the room.
At the center column, the Zia-inspired sun motif symbolizes the four directions, the four seasons, the four times of day, and the four stages of life — a powerful emblem of balance and continuity deeply rooted in Southwestern heritage.
Below, crossed arrows represent friendship and alliance, while the stylized bison head honors strength, endurance, and survival. The stepped geometric base references mountain forms and the Southwestern horizon, grounding the sculpture in place.
Designed with quarter-inch steel at the base for structural permanence and fabricated through precision cutting, welding, and polishing, this piece merges engineered rigor with cultural storytelling — transforming functional light into modern totemic architecture.
